In this video series, Dr. Alex Schauss explains new research on acai berry and MonaVie products in 2009 including a study on MonaVie Active demonstrating increase range of motion and decrease pain in in joints and a study on MonaVie Pulse examining its effect on cholesterol. The study findings are found in Part 4.
Part 1 -Dr. Alex Schauss explains how he first became interested in the acai berry and his early work with heroin addicts and vitamin C therapy. He shows on a map where the acai fruit grows and discusses how much acai is available to supply world demand. Dr. Schauss explains the importance of the freeze-drying process in preserving the thousands of active compounds in the acai berry. He announces for the first time the fact that the US National Institute of Health is now providing funding for ongoing acai research based on the strength of the research-to-date conducted by private labs.
Part 2 – In this segment Dr. Alex Schauss tells the story of first meeting Dallin Larsen and he gives Dallin and MonaVie accolades for their unwavering commitment to science. He shares the story of the day that the ORAC score of an unknown purple powder was first calculated and compares it to other well-known antioxidants in an apples-to-apples way. Dr. Schauss previews some of the work currently being conducted by the NIH and the US Department of Agriculture.
Part 3- This part jumps right into the story of the ‘mother free radical’ – the superoxide radical. This is the most damaging of all the free radicals in the body and the ability to neutralize it is measured by the SORAC score. Starting just before the 4 minute mark there are a set of slides showing the full nutritional profile of the acai berry including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, phytonutrients and more.
Part 4- This section continues the story of the acai berry emphasizing that using the whole fruit and not clarifying is essential to quality. Dr. Alex Schauss then gets into the details of several human clinical trials. He starts with a list of safety studies. Then he shares the range of motion and pain studies on MonaVie Active and the cholesterol studies on MonaVie Pulse. These are a must watch!
